Your service platform
Digital solution for optimizing healthcare service that aims to reduce wait times and errors, allowing real-time management and tracking of orders throughout the diagnostic operation stages in hospitals.
Context
In a healthcare network handling thousands of collections daily, ensuring patient safety, technical team efficiency, and accurate lab results is mission-critical.
Dasa faced structural challenges that directly affected both the patient experience and team productivity:
Failures in correctly identifying patients (International Patient Safety Goal #1)
Rework due to collection errors and repeated punctures
Lack of visibility between sample collection and lab processing
Delays in report delivery caused by poor prioritization of urgent cases
The mission was build an integrated digital solution enabling real-time visibility, full traceability, and end-to-end control of the pre-analytical process — from the moment of collection to the final lab report.
Process
I led this project creating from scratch a unified experience that connected frontline operations with lab coordination, while considering the needs of technicians, biomedical coordinators, and patients.
In-depth field research to diagnose real collection workflows and identify bottlenecks — from registration to completion.
User journey mapping for multiple personas (technicians, nurses, lab staff, coordinators) to uncover pain points and unmet needs.
Co-creation workshops with frontline professionals to validate concepts and low-fidelity prototypes before development.
Clear KPI alignment around reducing total service time, eliminating errors, and increasing first-attempt identification accuracy.
I adopted a user-centric approach, working through iterative design cycles and conducting rigorous testing to ensure the app truly met the needs and preferences of its target audience.
Creating wireframes and prototypes based on research insights, refining each iteration through user feedback to enhance the overall experience.
And test the app with users and used their input to improve both usability and design quality.
SIGO Mobile
Empowering technicians with real-time tools for safe and efficient sample collection
I developed a robust mobile app for collection technicians, with three core features:
Correct patient identification (Goal #1)
Smart scanning of ID badges or wristbands ensures accurate and secure patient identification.
Remote label printing
Labels for samples are printed on portable devices immediately after confirming patient registration — streamlining workflow and ensuring traceability.
On-site sample confirmation
Technicians can confirm sample collection directly via the app, eliminating the need to return to the lab and reducing overall time.
SIGO Web
While SIGO Mobile supports frontline staff, SIGO Web empowers managers and lab coordinators with strategic oversight:
Real-time tracking of all collection events
Request queue management based on clinical priority (e.g., urgent vs. routine)
Timeline view of each sample’s journey, from collection to report delivery
Alerts for delays or complications
Complete traceable history of each step, all in a single platform
This ecosystem created a connected platform bridging operational efficiency and high-quality care.
Impact
After implementing the SIGO platform, I observed significant improvements across key metrics:
35% reduction in total service time, from patient identification to sample processing
68% decrease in repeat punctures, thanks to accurate first-time identification
42% increase in technician productivity, by eliminating rework and unnecessary trave
50% decrease in average report delivery time for urgent cases
